Surrey Counsellor
I believe everyone can benefit from a supportive, collaborative counselling relationship. Finding the right counsellor can take time, but when the fit is right, therapy can become a space where you feel understood and empowered to make meaningful changes.
Whether you are navigating a difficult life transition, working through emotional challenges, or seeking greater self-awareness and personal growth, I would be honoured to support you. I will provide a calm, compassionate, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and supported while we work together toward your goals. My approach is client-centred and strengths-based, recognizing that each person’s experiences, goals, and values are unique. I currently see adult (18+) individual clients only.
I provide support with:
- Anxiety and stress
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
- Depression
- Life transitions, including relationship changes, career changes, retirement, and caring for aging parents
- Transitions to adulthood, including entering the workforce, post-secondary education, and developing independence
- Parenting challenges
- Grief and loss
- Recovery from trauma and abuse, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Building communication, boundaries, and assertiveness skills
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Simon Fraser University, with additional graduate coursework completed at Trinity Western University. With over twenty years in the field of psychology, and as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors for over ten years, I continue to actively pursue ongoing professional development to provide evidence-informed, effective care.
My therapeutic approach draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), and compassion-focused approaches for trauma and post-traumatic stress. I have completed specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and continue to pursue advanced training through the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard cognitive behavioural treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder and related conditions.
